Why do my geraniums smell like metal and will cutting off all the flowers help reduce the smell?
Most all geraniums have a somewhat unpleasant smell, that comes from the oil in the plant which is emitted from the leaves not flowers, so removing the blooms will not eliminate their odor. One variety, the citronella which doesn’t bloom, is especially disliked by mosquitos; it’s oil is used in candles and torch oils to burn outdoors to keep the unwanted pests away from your yard. SCOTT

Can you make your own rebar by cutting pieces of old metal pipe?
Or is there some reason that won’t work?
No. Re–bar has corrugations on it, that keep it from slipping through the cured concrete when the ground beneath settles. If you use pipe, the cured concrete might sag in some places causing cracks in the concrete. Rebar is pretty cheap. And it serves a purpose.

Can sparks from cutting metal hurt you?
Im cutting a metal dvd drive because im modding it so it is clear, so you can see the cd spin, when cutting the metal drive with a dremel, will the sparks from the dvd drive hurt me?

That small of a exposure period shouldn’t be a problem. I recommend at least wearing sunglasses to protect the eye, however, as I said. You’re not doing enough for the exposure to hurt you.

What would be best metal roofing cutting/trimming on job tool?
Looking to put metal roof on my house wondering what would be the best metal roof cutting tool and what other tools would be useful for the job too…
If you go through a metal roofing company, they should cut the panels close to length for you. But for bevels, hips and valleys, a pair of tin snips could do it in a pinch. I would rather use a power nibbler for something like that though.
